Exhibition Ware

Lynda Lehmann exhibits in a variety of galleries and special exhibitions.

Inspirations and artist statement

The inspiration for artistic ceramic work is often found in nature, in particular, birds. Firebird Studios is a nod to Lynda Lehmann’s nick name of Phoenix, as well as her penchant for creating fanciful birds.

Birds of flight, birds of fancy, birds of light.

Light is another major influence. The interactions between porcelain and light, glaze and light, and of course colour and light.

Another passion for artistic work is multi media, incorporating ceramic with metal, wire, paper and glass!

Finally, Martial Arts, and the grandmaster of the Bujinkan Ninjutsu Dojo, Dr Masaaki Hatsumi Sensei, a fine calligraphy and brush artist  himself, find a significant place in her creative drive.

In between functional production and teaching, Lynda is always working on some ambitious work that stretches her skills and imagination!
