July 14, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm$400.00
Intermediate and Advanced Throwing Short Course
Starting Wednesday July 14th – 5 Weeks
This 5 week throwing course is suitable for people who can center and control their clay on the potter’s wheel. A 10 week course is the ideal preparation for this class and you do not need to be a master – even though the projects are ambitious you will discover them at your own level and executing them will push your skills from where they are right now to another level!
The course will take you through the skills involved in altering forms, throwing multi part pieces, throwing larger pieces and fitted pieces. We consider the design and decoration, planning out each project with research, drawings and measurements. Please ensure your email works through our bulk mailing system as course content and requirements are mailed out each week!
Enrolment in the course is just $400, which includes the full term of Community Clay ($300 on its own). You will need your own clay, tools and addtional items to finish your creations. You may use the studio glazes or your own cone 6 glazes. Amounts of clay needed will be advised as will recommendations regarding types of clay suitable for each project. Clay is available for purchase in the studio. As a special bonus – firing fees are also included (normally $8/kg per Community Clay).

You’ll find plenty of inspiration for your work on the Pinterest board I’ve started – go down the rabbit hole and make your own Pinterest board for your own inspo!
There are people in this course who have been doing this course with me all year and they are improving at every outing, both in their throwing skills and the execution of the design and decorate portion of the course – you don’t have to me a master potter (yet), you will do the projects at a level you are ready for (ambitious for your skills level, but still not too far in advance of your skill level). don’t compare your work to others”, just be inspired by them!
