New Raku and Clay Re-claim Experience
May 15 @ 9:00 am - 2:00 pm$125.00
Raku and Clay Reclaim Workshop.
Sunday 15th May from 9am
The Raku Experience is back with a bit of a mix!! A new format aimed at enhancing the exciting parts of Raku Firing.
Raku firing is a fantastic and exciting experience with some incredible results. However there can be a lot of waiting and down time while the kiln gets to temperature.
Clay Reclaim Tutorial
To mix it up, and to make this day more exciting, we have included a Clay Reclaim session, in which we will teach you what we know about reclaiming your clay. The techniques, tools and requirements for both small- and large-scale clay reclaim.
We will not only fire up the Raku Rocket, but also our workhorse pugmill… so you can fill you day with learning, and go home with some pretty pots and some freshly pugged studio clay.
We are also including the option of using food-safe glazes in this firing so that your pots can be functional as well as beautiful.
What to bring
You will need to bring 4 or 5 small to medium sized pieces of bisque-ware. You may like to pre-glaze your pots in the days prior to the workshop to reduce the wait time for the day. You can do this in the studio in the days prior to the firing date.
***Please wear closed-in sturdy footwear, and well fitting clothing (no loose flowy garments please).
The Plan for the Day.
We will be running the day in 2 main firing shifts – 9am then 12pm. You may choose to stay for the whole day (all 5 sessions), or just attend the exciting parts.
