Firebird Studios’ Annual Pit Firing Workshop

Saturday 28th August from 4 pm

Pit firing is enormous fun!

Decorating your pots with seaweed, horse hair, various chemicals, copper wire and more, stacking them in the pit with sawdust and logs, setting fir to the thing and watching it burn in pretty colours and then settling around the campfire with a glass of wine to share potty stories and have a laugh. If you want you can camp over night and enjoy the unpacking of the pit the next morning over a coffee and breakfast! This is held at Marcia’s place in Tallebudgera Valley.

You need to bring 3 or more bisque fired pots (not too small), seaweed and various types of sticks and leaves, orange peel, horse hair copper wire or any thing else you would like to try with your pots (read up on the things you can use) food to share, whatever you like to drink, chairs and blankets, somewhere to sleep, breakfast goodies and anything else that will make you happy while camping out and having fun with fellow potters!

The pottery is beautiful and the fun is even better!
